1-FAS score and response to food (if applicable) recorded by the CSR is reviewed by nurse/assistant and DVM.
2-Use of pre-visit FAS management interventions (e.g. medication for travel sickness, PVN, PVP, pheromones, analgesia, compression garment) , or review of previous recommendation for said option(s), is confirmed by nurse/assistant and/or DVM
3-Unless medically contraindicated, food is used before, during and after exam/procedures for ALL patients and the treat ladder is used as needed.
4-Patients and/or pets in need are provided with FAS prevention/management options such as pheromones, nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and compression garments.
5-Supplemental warmth is provided during exams and procedures.
6-Non-slip flooring is provided in patient housing.
7-Visual blocks are provided in patient housing.
8-Visual blocks are provided for patients receiving treatments.
9-Calming music or masking sound is provided in treatment area.
10-Calming music or masking sound is provided in patient housing wards.
11-Where patients and/or pets are housed in the practice is done thoughtfully to minimize FAS.
12-During their stay, patients and/or pets are provided with familiar items from home such as bedding, toys, food, and cat litter.
